Position Purpose

As part of the Corporate Affairs Strategies and Planning function at Canada Health Infoway, you will be part of a team responsible for informing and educating the public and other key stakeholders about the benefits of electronic health records. You’ll work closely with our lines of business and your colleagues in Corporate Affairs to develop, shape and implement effective communications plans designed to promote and support their business objectives.

Major Responsibilities

Liaison/planning
  • Liaise with business units, provide advice and lead the consultation process to assess and analyze opportunities to promote and educate multiple audiences on our mandate.
  • Work with functional areas within Corporate Affairs, prepares overall integrated communications plan for identified business portfolios to include event planning and participation, sponsorships, e-marketing, direct mail, internet, advertising, media relations and internal communications and determine resources required to support the plan.
  • Manage the consultation process to gain agreement and necessary approvals of plan and executes implementation of deliverables identified.
  • Consult with and advises internal clients on communication opportunities and/or issues management.
Designs and delivers Infoway marketing communications products
  • Work with your colleagues in Corporate Affairs to develop creative strategies and execute tactical plans which meet the objectives of Infoway business units and are consistent with our overarching corporate communications strategy and brand.
  • Design and develop communications products and services that adhere to the brand image and support business objectives including e-marketing, writing, direct mail, internet, event marketing, print collateral, video and other multimedia products.
  • Develop creative marketing communications and strategies and tactical work plans to support Infoway initiatives.
  • Write new and/or edit content for internet and other tactics to ensure subject matter is strategically aligned with the corporate communications strategy and identified business objectives.
  • Direct and manage internal service providers or external suppliers (through creative briefs) to design, write, produce and distribute marketing communications products including internet, direct mail, brochures, info sheets, videos, CDs, DVDs, printed materials, photographs, trade show booths, internet, etc.
  • Manage the delivery of such products to ensure quality, cost and timing criteria are met according to the scope of work.
Financial responsibility
  • Deliver marketing collateral on time and within established budget, ensuring appropriate approvals are secured prior to conducting work/accepting deliver of materials.

Education

  • University degree in marketing, business, communication, or related field
  • 10 years experience providing marketing communications strategic planning and managing delivery of marketing communication products and services
  • Experience advising/consulting with clients on their marketing communication needs/strategy, gain alignment and agreement with stakeholders and working with teams to execute on strategy
  • 5 -7 years experience in social marketing/public education, preferably with healthcare and IT clients
  • Experience in both the public and private sectors is preferred
  • Experience in the information technology and/or healthcare sectors are a definite asset
  • Experience in writing or editing for internet and other e-marketing materials
  • Experience in directing and working with designers, graphic artists, printers, video production houses, display houses, photographers, etc
  • Experience managing budgets

  • Research and evaluation skills for measuring communication planning, implementation and effectiveness.
  • Analytical skills for analyzing problems and opportunities, defining goals, identifying audiences and recommending and planning activities
  • Negotiation and influencing skills to gain consensus among diverse stakeholders to achieve a common approach and direction.
