Sylvain Rocque
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Sylvain Rocque is responsible for leading the development of financial strategies and policies to fulfill Infoway's fiduciary responsibilities. He oversees a number of corporate functions including: finance and controllership; integrated risk management, compliance and audit; cash management and investments; procurement; information management and technology; and Board Secretariat and governance.
Mr. Rocque brings to his role at Infoway leadership and extensive experience in financial management and corporate functions for various national not-for-profit organizations in the health sector. For 11 years, he was Chief Financial Officer for the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). While at CIHI, he was responsible for providing overall vision and direction for CIHI's strategies, programs, policies and information systems in the areas of finance, corporate administration and human resources. He was also responsible for the development and negotiation of a series of bilateral funding agreements with the federal, provincial and territorial jurisdictions. Prior to joining CIHI, he was the Director of Finance and Administration of The MIS Group, a not-for-profit national health agency which was a CIHI predecessor. Prior to that, Mr. Rocque worked for the Canadian Hospital Association. He holds an Executive MBA from Queen's University and a community college diploma in accounting. He also completed a certificate program in executive leadership from the Professional Development Centre at Queen's University School of Business. Mr. Rocque was the recipient of various service awards including the prestigious 1985 Youth Year Medal awarded by the Premier of Ontario.
